Holidays & absences

Holiday requests, balances and absences — fully digital and always correct.

Holidays are a perennial subject: requests on scraps of paper, balances kept in someone’s head or in a spreadsheet, and at the end of the year the question of who is owed how many days. Mistakes are inevitable, especially with part-time work, mid-year joiners or apprentices with a higher entitlement.

HREasy maps the entire process digitally. Employees submit requests in self-service, you approve with one click, and the holiday balance is calculated automatically according to workload, start date and age. A team calendar shows at a glance who is away and when.

Sound familiar?

  • Holiday requests arrive by word of mouth or on a note — and get forgotten.
  • The balance is never quite right, above all with part-time work or a start date mid-year.
  • Too many employees are away at the same time because nobody has the overview.
  • Remaining days at year end lead to arguments.

What HREasy offers

Self-service requests

Employees request holidays, unpaid leave or other absences themselves; you approve on mobile with one click.

Automatic balance

Entitlement, days taken and remaining balance are calculated continuously, pro rata for part-time work and mid-year starts.

Higher entitlement taken into account

Young people up to the age of 20 and apprentices are entitled to at least five weeks; HREasy calculates this automatically.

Team calendar

All absences at a glance, so that never too many people are off at once.

Types of absence

Holidays, public holidays, unpaid leave, military service and more — cleanly separated and evaluated.

Half-days & public holidays

Half-days and cantonal public holidays are taken into account without manual recalculation.

In detail

Balances that always add up

The statutory minimum entitlement is four weeks per year, and five for young people and apprentices. For part-time work and for joining or leaving during the year the entitlement is calculated pro rata — a frequent source of error.

HREasy handles this calculation automatically and transparently. Every employee can see their own current balance, which makes follow-up questions unnecessary.

Planning certainty for the team

The team calendar shows planned and approved absences centrally. This lets you spot bottlenecks early and avoid a whole department being empty at once.

Approvals run digitally: submit, review, release. Employees are informed automatically and the balance updates immediately.

Frequently asked questions

How many holidays are due by law?

At least four weeks per year; for employees up to the completed age of 20 and for apprentices at least five weeks (Code of Obligations Art. 329a).

How is the balance calculated for part-time work?

Pro rata to the workload and the length of employment. HREasy calculates this automatically, including joining or leaving during the year.

Can employees see their own balance?

Yes, everyone can see entitlement, days taken and remaining balance in the portal at any time.

Are public holidays taken into account?

Yes, including cantonal differences, so that public holidays are not wrongly deducted from the holiday account.
